Today, I have brought you a review of a portable projector, which falls in the category of the Xiaomi Wanbo T6 projector.
For those who cannot afford Wanbo T6 projector, for them, the company has provided a good cheaper alternative to it.The
marketing of this projector in India is been done by the Wzatco company, which
is also its only authorised dealer here.
If
you purchase this projector from any other dealer, then you will not get its
services.
So
make sure that you purchase this projector only through the links that I have
provided in the description box.
So
now, let's start this video with the unboxing of this projector.
This
is the Wanbo T4 projector that comes in this Blue box.
Inside
the box, apart from the projector, you get a remote, a power cord, a 2.0-ampere
power adaptor, a warranty card and this instruction manual.
Clad
in all white, this projector looks pretty stylish.
Its
build quality is also pretty good.
High-quality
plastic material has been used for its construction.
Along
with a compact form factor, this projector has an elegant design.
The
lens is located on the upper side of the projector, at a height.
And
around it, there is a Black mirror finish, which accentuates the look of this
projector.
Here,
near the bottom, there is a camera for autofocusing.
On
the upper surface, there is an on/off push button.
On
the back, there is 1 USB port, 1 HDMI port, a 3.5mm audio port and a power port.
Underneath
this projector, the details are mentioned and there is a screw thread for
mounting it on a tripod.
The
remote is premium and stylish.
On
the remote, there are buttons for electronic focusing.
Overall
this is a beautifully designed projector, which grants you the flexibility to
carry it anywhere along with you.
Now
let's talk about the company-given features and specifications.
This
is a native FHD projector that comes with 450 ANSI Lumens brightness and a
2000:1 contrast ratio.
Through
this projector, you can project a 200 inches screen.
Apart
from Bluetooth v5.0, it comes with dual-band Wi-Fi It comes with Wi-Fi 6
support.
On
this projector, apart from an electronic focus, you get a 4-point electronic
keystone correction.
Coming
to its durability-related features; This projector has an intelligent heat
dissipation system and for cooling, it has three different types of big fans,
intake fan, exhaust fan and controller fan.
When
the temperature of the PCB rises, the speed of the fans automatically
increases, thus, even when you use it for long hours, the projector does not
get overheated.
Apart
from this, there is a fully-closed dust-proof optical chamber.
The
LED, LCD and lens, all three, are located in a fully-sealed chamber, because of
this, the chances of dust entering are almost nil.
The
lens has been constructed out of glass and it comes with multi-coating.
The
projector has two full-frequency, high-fidelity, 3 watts speakers that come
with Dolby and DTS decoding.
You
can connect this projector wirelessly to your Bluetooth speakers.
In
addition to it, you can also wirelessly connect your gaming controllers and
keyboard mouse to it.
You
can even connect your Playstation, set-top box, Android TV box and DVD player,
to this projector.
According
to the company, this projector supports 4K, as well as HDR10+ and Dolby Vision
videos.
The
lamp life of this projector is 20000 hours.
Now
coming to the real performance of this projector; It is very easy to set up
this projector.
You
need to keep it at an appropriate distance from the screen, and, just by moving
it slightly ahead or back, you can obtain a perfect image, without even
entering the settings.
This
projector auto-adjusts the focus and keystone correction.
However,
if you still want to fine-tune the focus, you can do it through the buttons
provided on the remote.
To
make a perfectly rectangular screen, you can go inside the settings, and adjust
the corners of the picture through the 4D keystone correction.
Setting
up this projector is a breeze and any first-time user can also set up this
projector easily.
Now
coming to its picture quality, first of all, you need to know that the motive
behind creating this projector is its portability! Generally, home cinema
projectors are heavy, whereas, this is a lightweight projector, which can be
easily carried along while travelling.
This
is the reason, why this has been made weather-proof.
However,
you cannot compare the brightness of portable projectors with home Cinema
projectors such as Alpha 1, Alpha 2 or Wzatco S6! On these compact projectors,
you cannot get that brightness, which you can get on bigger projectors.
Yes,
if you reduce the size of the screen, then you can obtain good brightness even
on these compact projectors.
This
is the projection on a 130-inch white screen, however, If you limit this
projection to 80 or 90 inches, then you will get a much better picture quality.
The
need for more brightness that arises when you project it on a bigger screen,
gets fulfilled when you project the same on a relatively smaller screen.
The
projection of this projector looks pretty good on a 90 inches screen in a dark
room.
The
colour reproduction of this projector is pretty good.
You
get to see cinematic colours on it.
There
is much detail clarity in pictures that look sharp and well-defined.
Considering
that it is a projector and not a TV, you get to see decent blacks on it.
You
will also be able to play 4K videos through its USB, and, even get to play some
4K videos on YouTube.
But,
while playing YouTube videos, I did observe some lag.
Through
the USB, you can also play 4k HDR videos.
This
projector supports AAC & HEVC formats.
However,
some 4k HDR files went unsupported.
The
Wanbo company claims Dolby Vision support on this projector, but, Dolby Vision
goes unsupported on it! Though 4k HDR videos are supported on it through the
USB port, it is pertinent to mention here that none of the budget projectors
gives you real HDR support.
True
HDR support is found only on the above 1.5 lakhs projectors, which specifically
mention HDR in their specifications.
And,
as of now, Dolby Vision support is not there even on the much costlier
projectors of the higher brands.
You
can also watch programs on it through the set-top box.
Both
HD and SD channels look pretty good on it.
The
overall picture quality of this projector looks pretty good if the screen size
is limited to 90 inches.
You
can take it along with you during holidays and enjoy movies on it.
These
are its best picture settings, if you wish you can note them down.
This
projector is capable of forming a bigger screen than most projectors.
From
a distance of 10 feet, it can form a screen of above 100 inches.
Coming
to its audio: The audio of this projector is sufficient for a room size of
10x12 feet.
You
can clearly hear dialogue on it.
The
foremost thing about this projector is that it comes with HDMI ARC through
which you can connect any HDMI ARC soundbar and enjoy Dolby Digital audio.
This
projector also supports Dolby Digital Plus and hard drives.
You
can connect a hard drive to its USB port and HDMI to any soundbar and enjoy
theatre-like audio while watching movies and shows.
This
projector supports casting, but, for that, you need to download the Eshare
application on your smartphone.
The
projector comes with an Android 9.0 OS, on which, you get almost all
applications! But, as I have been telling you repeatedly in all my videos; On
none of the projectors, you get an official Android, irrespective of how costly
it is.
This
is the reason why apart from YouTube, you get very low resolution in all other
applications.
For
watching programs in high quality, you will need an Android TV box with any
projector that you buy.
And,
here in India, the Mi Android TV box is the best option, as of now.
Through
that, you will be able to watch Netflix and other applications in 1080p
resolution.
An
Android TV box will also give you 4K support on YouTube.
So,
overall, this is a pretty good portable projector, which sits above the Wanbo
T2 projector, and, below the Wanbo T6 Max projector.
For
those, who cannot afford Wanbo T6 Max, this projector is a very good
alternative in the portable category.
Despite
being much cheaper than the Wanbo T6 Max projector, it is not very far behind
it in picture quality.
This
projector is your entertainment on the go, which you can take along with you
while travelling.
You
can even use it for presentations in a dimly-lit room.
